This is Alec’s first graduate position after completing his Masters degree in July 2023. He has previous experience working for CBH—site planning areas of modular accommodation for harvest workers on farms in WA’s wheatbelt. Alec has also worked on several small-scale residential renovations and extensions.

Lara-Ann started her career as an Architectural Technologist in 2000 at the Austin Company—London, UK (2.5 years duration). She was a part of an integrated team of architects & engineers in the design and documentation of pharmaceutical R&D laboratories, offices, conference and facilities.

Adendorff Architects & Interior Consultants—Port Elizabeth, ZA (2.5 years): Residential houses—Turn-Key building and interior design solutions to local and international clients. Corporate & commercial including KPMG—Interior remodelling, Volkswagen head office—Interior remodelling. Clare joined KPA in 2002 and has worked on a range of projects including petroleum, retail, commercial, aged care, additions and alterations, residential and interior design. Clare is involved in various stages of projects from design, authority approvals, contract documentation, contract administration and project management. She has a keen interest for interior design, proficient in documentation and has an eye and strive for a high quality of finish in projects.

She is also a Liveable Housing Australia Design Guideline Assessor, which involves certifying current and future homes and assessing how a home can be better designed to suit a resident’s abilities.

Lino Iacomella

Lino has extensive experience in the property industry. He is the former Executive Director of the Property Council in Western Australia with his career spanning at the Property Council for over 10 years. He also has imperative knowledge in property research and land redevelopment due to his previous roles as Director of Policy and Research at the Real Estate Institute of WA, Deputy Chairman of the Land Redevelopment Committee MRA and a Board Member of the Australian Urban Design Research Centre.

Lino is a property economist and corporate strategist and is highly respected in the Western Australian property industry. His experience, skills and knowledge is valuable to the KPA team.

Todd Paterson

Todd has been with KPA since 1998 working on a range of projects. Specialising in Sustainability, Aged Care and Retirement as well as large Retail projects. Having travelled extensively across five continents studying the various models available. He is now KPA’s Director.

Todd sits on numerous boards and committees ensuring a high level of community involvement. These include the City of South Perth Design Advisory Consultants, Australian Institute of Architects Practice Committee and Access Committee.

Sheridan Drury

Sheridan started her career with KPA in 2013 through our scholarship program. She has been involved in a range of projects including Petrol, Retail, Aged Care and Retirement Living.

Sheridan is highly skilled in the delivery of presentation documents and forms part of the concept imagery team. She is currently working towards furthering her knowledge in all phases of documentation with a focus on working drawings.

Peter Van Geloven

Since 2002 Peter has worked for three architectural companies as a Draftsperson and over that time he has gained a vast range of experience. During this time, he assisted in a number of different areas to facilitate the success of projects ranging from Design Development right through to Contract Documentation. Peter also assisted in areas such as Development Applications and Building Permits and Design & Construct projects.

Peter has worked on a number of large projects throughout Western Australia and joined KPA Architects in 2014 as a Senior Draftsperson.

Peter has proven that he is a valuable member to KPA in providing sound construction knowledge and aiding in all areas of project documentation and control.

He also is involved in a number of volunteer community groups such as Surf Lifesaving and Fire & Rescue.

Ken Paterson

With over 40 years of architectural experience and almost as many in the role of director of KPA Architects, Ken now acts as a senior Consultant specialising in a variety of different project types such as retail, commercial and multi- storey residential projects. Ken is responsible for maintaining the highest level of client satisfaction and design quality.

Ken is also a registered Project Manager and has managed projects ranging in value up to $30m to $50,000. Using his refined expertise he is capable of dealing with difficult project constraints, while maintaining project integrity.
