Design Implications

The announcement of Perth’s first Community Integrated Care Hub for seniors has created an opportunity for changes to existing aged care homes to optimise the benefits of the hubs.

Some design implications would include telehealth‑ready collaboration rooms that support rapid clinical advice with the hubs; dedicated assessment and observation spaces to reduce avoidable emergency department transfers to hospitals; and upgraded digital infrastructure.

We are advising clients this shouldn’t be about large‑scale redevelopment. It is more strategic adjustments that enable aged care homes to operate smoothly in an increasingly integrated care system.
