Driving Growth in Disability Housing

KPA’s Director Todd Paterson recently attended the “Driving Growth in Disability Housing Conference” in Sydney. The conference discussed the role of Architects working with the community housing sector, disability housing and property developers in providing Specialist Disability Accommodation as part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) rollout. This is a very specialised area that KPA Architects have a deep interest in and the relevant expertise to provide advice.With some critical tweaks to standard apartment layouts and a thorough understanding of the relevant building codes, there is potential to provide highly equitable living opportunities to people with a range of disabilities within our community. This can also help with pre-sales in apartments.
