Kwinana Marketplace Supermarket Extension

The Kwinana Marketplace Supermarket Extension involves the demolition of an existing part of the shopping centre to allow for the long awaited arrival of Coles Supermarket to the Marketplace.

This project also involves the inclusion of a new Liquorland and tenants, along with existing mall and tenancy modification works. New works also involve loading dock modifications, car park alterations and addition of shade sails to specific car park areas. The new Coles Supermarket design ties in cohesively with the existing development and will bring new and former customers to the Marketplace.

Stirling Central Shopping Centre

The redevelopment of the Stirling Central Shopping Centre includes alterations and additions to the existing shopping centre.

The overall scope captures internal and external alterations to existing major tenancies to include new tenants, various specialty tenancy reconfigurations and refurbishment of existing malls and amenities. This project will incorporate site works including levelling and reconfiguration of an existing area of car parking, external pedestrian access ways and paths, new loading dock, utilities and services, landscaping and other associated work.

Singleton Village Shopping Centre

The Singleton Village Shopping Centre is a new development consisting of a Woolworths Supermarket, BWS, medical centre, cafe and other specialty tenancies.

The architectural concept of the development was derived from the local beaches to give the centre a family and community feel. The feature surfboards will be a beacon along Mandurah Road, making the development stand out to attract shoppers and families alike. Feature timber beams and soft colours echo the beach and ocean, whilst giving the development a contemporary aesthetic.

Vasse Shopping Centre

The new Vasse Shopping Centre and petrol station, situated in the village centre of Vasse Estate in South West WA, have been granted Development Approval based on KPA’s design and documentation for Coles Property Group.

The local area provided inspiration in abundance, with architectural influences taken from the Busselton beach and jetty area, the iconic modern winery architecture of the South West region, organic rural/vineyard elements, the adjacent Busselton to Flinders Bay Rail Trail and traditional main street architectural style.  The intended result was an eclectic, village-style aesthetic, serving as an anchor and catalyst for future development along the main street, enhancing amenity for locals and providing a destination for visitors to the greater area.

Kelmscott Library

Following KPA’s work on the refurbishment of Stargate Shopping Centre in Kelmscott, we were given the opportunity to provide architectural services for the creation of a tenancy space for the Kelmscott Library.

The project brief required the reconfiguration and refurbishment of a vacant supermarket tenancy and loading dock area to create the new space for the library.  The loading dock was transformed into a landscaped forecourt and a new entry was created utilising large existing wall openings.  Suspended awnings and a modern blade feature reflect the architectural elements of the shopping centre and pad site buildings, enhancing the harmonious language of the built form across the site.  Along the side walls, new floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light into the building interior and new ceilings, wall linings and services created a fresh shell in which the library tenants could carry out their own fit-out works.

Austin Lakes Shopping Centre

Set in South Yunderup, this shopping centre links with the extended Austin Lakes estate and provide a central retail hub for the surrounding future community.

Wattle Grove Shopping Centre

The proposal was for a “Neighbourhood Centre” that comprised of a supermarket, liquor store, specialty shops and a pharmacy.

The site backs onto the Woodlupine Brook Drain and is adjacent to a future public open space. The built form addresses these areas, as well as the street, by means of landscaped pedestrian access, activation of shopfronts and adjacent parking. The building fabric was designed to complement the direction of the Shire’s ‘Wattle Grove Village Centre’ master plan and the selected colour palette reflects the local vernacular in accordance with the Shire’s planning requirements.

Waterhall Shopping Centre

Waterhall Shopping Centre is a new retail development located in South Guildford consisting of a supermarket, specialty shops, medical centre and community tenancy with associated car parking and services.

Recognising the existing heritage surrounds, the project captures traditional brick construction and architecture in a contemporary way. With an art component to the project, the artwork is based on the surrounding trees of the site to further enhance its heritage surroundings.
